Video sales module [PrestaShop 1.6] [PrestaShop 1.7]

The PrestaShop Video Sales Module is used for selling videos and courses. The module offers three operating modes:

1) Integration with the paid Vimeo service (provides support for most devices and protection against unauthorized sharing). Vimeo is the recommended option.

2) Standard embedding of private YouTube videos (A private video on the platform means that the video is only accessible to those who have received a direct link to it or are embedded on a website. People without a direct link or not seeing the embedded video will not be able to view it. This means that the video is not publicly available, only for selected individuals. Due to YouTube's policy, it is not possible to hide the link to such a video, and the customer can share it further.

3) Utilization of the jquery.mb.YTPlayer library, which provides simple protections against video sharing (no support for Apple devices).

Operating options 2 and 3 are very similar:
You upload your course to the YouTube platform with limited visibility as "private." Your customer gains access to the video after purchase through your store. Player settings remove the YouTube logo and the ability to go directly to the video. The protection is relatively simple and hinders access to the videos without authorization, but it should be noted that it is not 100% secure.

Multiple videos can be associated with a single virtual product. Customers have access to the videos for a specified period, e.g., 365 days.

In the configuration, you can specify order statuses for which the video is available to the customer. You can automatically change the status to another one right after the customer watches the video. In case of order cancellation, the attached video is automatically removed from the account.

For companies just starting their video sales journey, there is a need for a place to store videos. Sometimes, server costs can be significant. In heavy load situations, your server may be too weak. By sharing videos on YouTube, you don't have to worry about the costs of hosting them - you do it completely for free.
